UPWalker

What is UPWALKER?

The UPWalker addresses the deficiencies of conventional walkers, including fall risk, slouching, and lack of user confidence and comfort. Traditional rollators can lead patients to experience painful pressure on the wrists and back, the UPWalker is designed to support patients in a secure upright position and improving gait efficiency during ambulation.

 

Laboratory research study conducted by Dr. Arun Jayaraman, PT, PhD at the Shirely Ryan AbilityLab/ Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago revealed UPWalker technology outperforms rollators and walkers by:

  • Improved gait efficiency

  • Users experienced lower oxygen consumption and physical exertion

  • Reduced erector spinae lumbar muscle activation

  • Reduced anterior-posterior trunk sway

  • Offloaded 39% to 46% of body weight through elbow support armrest while ambulating

  • Exercise mode available while walking or while standing in stationary position.

  • Reciprocating armrests provide for a wide range of motion that invigorates muscle groups like the arms, back, legs, core as well as the heart.

  • Helps users address muscles loss due to aging.

  • Sturdy frame with user weight capacity up to 300lbs

  • Accommodates user height from 4’9”- 5’11”

The CardioAccelerator offers all the features and benefits of the Original UpWalker plus active cardio and upper body exercise.​

UPWalker Lite

  • Well- suited for indoor use and designed to maneuver in tighter spaces

  • For users who might be challenged by a heavier walker

  • Easy to lift/ transport, only weighs 15.5 pounds

  • Accommodates user height range from 4’7 -5’10”, maximum weight of 300lb.

The UpWalker Lite is a smaller, lighter, lower-priced version of the original UpWalker.​
